The government of Bolivia has decided to sever diplomatic ties with Israel, citing what it deems “crimes against humanity” during Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The announcement was made by the Bolivian foreign ministry on Tuesday.
This isn’t the first time Bolivia has taken such a step in response to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. Back in 2009, Bolivia previously cut diplomatic ties with Israel as a form of protest against its military operations in the same region.
However, a change in the country’s diplomatic stance occurred in 2020 under the leadership of President Jeanine Anez when Bolivia decided to reestablish diplomatic relations with Israel at that time.
