Kelly Clarkson Goes Ghoulish for Halloween Show in Bloody-Eyed Vampiric Look (Exclusive)

Kelly Clarkson stirred up a scare on the Halloween episode of self-titled talk show Tuesday.

While other daytime shows were embracing beloved entertainment characters and pop culture figures, the Grammy and Emmy winner chose to go dark, dressing as a blood-sucking vampire.

PEOPLE was given a sneak peek at her look. For the costume, she wore a form-fitting long-sleeve black dress with a matching choker. Her face was painted to look ghostly pale and drops of painted blood dripped from her smokey eyes.

The mother of two wore her hair down and crimped. Elongated faux fangs came down from her teeth, to complete the look.

“I love Halloween so much,” Clarkson said at the top of the show, after singing a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s hit son, “Vampire.”

“We are all different versions of vampires,” she added. “I am Rock and Roll Vampire. That’s what I’m claiming, ’cause we just went with it!”

Jason Halbert, from her house band My Band Y’all, dressed as Nosferatu, the “OG” vampire. The rest of the band all created equally unique characters and looks for themselves, with the help of the show’s wardrobe supervisor Earl J. Nicholson and his team.

“We should all go out after this, just to freak people out,” Clarkson joked.

The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s set was also dressed up for the occasion, with various Halloween decor scattered about. New, darker colors with pops of oranges highlighted the space.

Guest Kyle Richards showed up in costume too, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star transforming into a black cat in a leather-like bodysuit.

This is Clarkson’s fifth Halloween episode of her talk show and first since moving the popular daytime series from Los Angeles and across the country to New York City. Last season, she went with another spooky, Stevie Nicks-inspired look, but the first three seasons were all about more light-hearted fun: a Ghostbuster (season 3), Marilyn Monroe (season 2) and Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus (season 1).
