Ashanti and Nelly had a very special Mother’s Day celebration as they expect their first child together.
Though the power couple – who recently announced not only their pregnancy but also their engagement – were late on their Mother’s Day post, it was only because they were busy enjoying and living in the moment together with their families.
As the dust settled, the 43-year-old singer and actress took to her Instagram on Thursday, May 16, to reflect on their celebrations.
“This Mother’s Day was so special,” the expecting mother wrote in the caption alongside a photo dump of her, her fiancé, and their families.
“Having our families together as we are about to embark on such an incredible journey was amazing,” she continued, sharing photographs of her joint family with Nelly.
“Wishing all of the amazing Moms and Moms to be a beautiful Mother’s Day!!!” she wrote.
Ashanti further acknowledged, “Yeah yeah I know I’m late,” before quipping, “it was so much food I got distracted [crying laughing face emoji] I only had 1 plate though.”
The Grammy-winning artists first dated from 2003 to 2013. After spending a decade apart, they reunited in September 2023.
In April, they announced not only their first pregnancy together but also their engagement.
